10th July VS Scoresby
Three from Three
U19/20s
Warrandyte 16.13-109
Scoresby 4.7-31
Once again our boy’s getting of to a good start winning the first centre clearance & only taking a matter of seconds before hitting the score board we were switched on ready to go and go is what we did putting together a four quarter effort which was pleasing to see kicking 16 goals for the day great team effort.
Reserves
Warrandyte 11.10-76
Scoresby 9.6-60
Reserves were coming off a big win the previous week so confidence was high . With Tickets , Tys , and Pooley absent it certainly tested our depth.
The first qtr saw us start really well , we were prepared to link up help each which resulted in a 4.2 to 2.0 lead.
2nd qtr saw both teams try hard but credit to Scoresby were able to capitalise on our unforced errors which resulted the visitors holding a 1 goal lead.
3qtr after a few positional changes came out with really good intensity and kicked 2.2 and keeping the opposition scoreless which is credit to all .
Final qtr saw both both sides wanting to win but they didn’t have a L.Dunn on their side who presented well all day and finished with 3 final qtr goals ( 5 for the Day ) . Final score 11.10 to 9.6
Great contributions to J.Clearey , J.Wilson , Luke Dunn , Luke Brewis , C.V and Ryan Paterson
Well done boys in 3rd spot and great day for the club, Dalts
Seniors
Warrandyte 14.13-97
Scoresby 8.7-55
With 2 wins in the early games and some past legends of the club watching from the stands, the seniors were thrilled to overturn our round 4 result with a hard fought 42 point win over Scoresby.
An arm wrestle early was broken up buy the boys with 5 goals in each of the 2nd and 3rd quarters while restricting Scoresby to 2 goals in each. It gave us a handy buffer at 3/4 time and although we would’ve liked to kick away further, we are always happy with a 42 point win.
Buckets again led all goal kickers with 4 but as usual a great support cast all chimed in with Nikoda (3), Quinn (2), Johnstone (2) and singles to Callum, Tout and M Buckley. It was a really even spread of better players with multiple winners across all lines. Special mention to Mitchell Morris who played his first senior game for WFC and showed he will have a bright future.
See you all out at Glen Waverley next week.
