Our senior coach Paul Donahoo and our Well Being team led by Tim Lambert (Our Club Chaplin) wanted to acknowledge it, starting the session by asking the players to pair up and go for a 10 min walk/jog together and check in with each other.
The discussion was led by highlighting the following stats:
On average 5 males suicide each day
Males live 4.4 years less than females
Biggest killers of men
1. Cardiovascular disease
2. Suicide
3. Car accidents
Noting that 56% of workforce is men yet 94% of fatalities in the workplace are male.
It was also highlighted that great ways to improve men’s health are:
1. Healthy diet
2. Get physical
3. Reduce stress
4. Quit smoking
5. Stay connected
