Official Club Announcement: New Senior Coach

Appointment for 2018: Anthony McGregor

President Peter Hookey & Warrandyte Football Club are extremely excited to announce tonight to our players, members, sponsors and supporters the appointment of our new Senior Coach for 2018, Anthony McGregor.

Anthony started his football career in the VFL program at Collingwood, he then played under Brian Taylor at Prahran and was quickly drafted to Fitzroy as number 28 in the draft. He played 41 games and kicked 11 goals for Fitzroy and played with Paul Roos, Ross Lyon and Alister Lynch. Major hamstring injuries prevented him relocating to the Brisbane Lions following the Fitzroy/Brisbane merger.

He later played for Barooga in a premiership and then joined the Northern Bullants as an assistant playing coach. He was then recruited to Heidelberg and played there until a broken jaw ended his career.

Anthony’s first coaching stint was with Reservoir where he took a club that was about to fold to just missing finals in his first year.
He then coached Bundoora reserves to runners up as well as the assistant coach of the seniors premiership. His latest appointment has been at South Morang.

Anthony and his family have recently moved to Warrandyte and shown keen interest watching several home games this year. He brings a wealth of top level experience and knowledge to the Warrandyte Football Club and the Committee is very pleased to have him oversee our playing group.

Please join the Club in warmly welcoming Anthony and his family to the Bloods! Blues skies for 2018 and beyond!
