We traveled out to Springfield Park to face our old nemesis in Whitehorse, whilst the under 19’s came up against a rampaging Silvan. Unfortunately the Seniors and Under 19’s hit road blocks with losses, however the Reserves came away with a much needed win and a good percentage boost.

SENIORS

Warrandyte: 13 . 10 . 45
Whitehorse: 9 . 10 . 64

RESERVES

Warrandyte: 13 . 10 . 88
Whitehorse: 3 .6 . 24

A good solid effort from the whole team in the first quarter with a 2 goal lead the boys had certainly came to play. We continued to play good footy in the second quarter, with Whitehorse kicking their only goal after the half time siren.

In the 3rd quarter, we battled for control of the footy and were stuck in cruise control showing some worrying signs. Thankfully we were able to snap out of it and play some great footy from mid way through the 3rd quarter onwards setting Up a 10 Goal win in great team effort.

U19’S

Warrandyte: 6 . 7 . 43
Silvan: 14 . 4 . 88

Match report to come

Playing Silvan at Whitehorse Pioneers ground gave both teams an even playing field. Conditions where perfect for mud wrestling, not so much for clean footy.

Both teams had the same conditions to contend with, and we had a fight on our hands. Warrandyte started well for the first 5 Minutes but discipline and lack of accountability set in costing the team.

Silvan’s mid field cut Warrandyte to pieces throughout the match and we are going to need to learn and to adapt. Next week we have another challenge playing Kilsyth at Warrandyte we need to regroup and focus on our game plan.
