Forest Hill 4.2-26 FINAL 16.18-114 Warrandyte
Today we made the trek out at Forest Hill, with a fair few out, and the ladder tightening up for finals, it was an important day to come away with the 4 points.
Playing on a small ground we had to adjust certain structures to suit the ground and adjust is what we did. Credit to the lads, we all bought into how we wanted to play and put the team first rather than themselves. Defend first, then attack. We wanted to celebrate our first goal and had 18 blokes get around Poll kicking our first for the day, which was great to see.
The mids controlled the centre of the ground and did great at locking the ball in our forward half. The back 6 transitioned the ball very well, backing each other’s skills in and giving our forwards first use. Peter dib is the definition of 1%’s and was strong all day in the backline, whilst having the silent assassin Austin Humphries providing plenty of run next to him.
Baz on the wing was going back with the flight, where he took a courageous mark, in the last quarter. In Warrandyte style we kicked 7 goals in the last quarter and came away with a great win.
We are continuing to improve, and have an exciting couple of weeks of footy ahead. This Saturday at 5:00pm, in a historic event for the club, the U19’s will be playing the first ever night game ever to be played at Warrandyte reserve. In a 3rd V 4th clash, the stakes are high, and we would love to see you there to show support.
Go Bloods.
