Round 4 saw the Bloods head out to Waverley to play the Waverley Blues. Whilst the weather threatened to turn very ugly, it held off allowing for some great football.

Our under 19’s and Seniors were able to come away with great wins, with the reserves unable to hit the scoreboard often enough to get the job done.

SENIORS

Warrandyte: 13 . 16 . 94 def.
Waverley: 13 . 7 . 85

This week we ventured over to Waverley to take on the Blues. Coming off a good win, we were keen and very conscious of backing up our performance from last week.

Oh my did we do so, wowee this game had everything – ebbs & flows, ups, downs and roundabouts. In the end we were victors and not just speaking for myself I think I can say we as coaches were very proud walking off the ground today.

We got down and dirty in the mud for this one – we kicked, punched and clawed to grind our way over the line by 9 points. Some very good individual efforts but today we raised the bar and believed in our system.

RESERVES

Warrandyte: 3 . 4 . 22 def. by
Waverley: 7 . 11 . 53

Again it was a very slow start which cost us this week. A disappointing first 3 quarters for Warrandyte where we were unable to score a goal left us with too much work to do. We managed to drag the score back to a respectable margin. None the less positive signs still came out of the game looking forward to when we gel as one.

U19’S

Warrandyte: 13 . 10 . 88 def.
Waverley: 3 . 3 . 21

Waverley Blues had lost 2 matches by less than 2 points, so we knew this wasn’t going to be a pushover game. With some key players out of the side this was going to test the depth of the Warrandyte boys.

We had 2 new players playing their first game in Cody and Callum, they didn’t look out of place and slotted in to the team well. In the first couple of minutes Waverley took control of the game until the bloods lowered their eyes and started to play our game plan.

Multi entry’s saw multiple goal scorers and great to see the boys sharing the ball. We are improving with each game and remain undefeated!
