Round 5 saw the Bloods head out to Chirnside Park to face the Panthers. Coming up against 3 Chirnside park teams desperate for wins, we had to come prepared to work hard. All 3 Bloods sides put together great games of footy, dominating the day and gaining some much needed percentage.

SENIORS

Warrandyte: 25 . 15 . 165 def.
Chirnside Park: 8 . 4 . 52

On a wet and dreary day we ventured over to Kimberley Reserve to face a winless Chirnside Park. With nothing to lose the panthers jumped out of the blocks and at the first change had a handy 15 point lead.

The quarter time address was clear and simple – get back to our basics and and get back to grinding sides down with pressure and work rate. The boys responded and quickly reeled Chirnside in to have a handy lead by half time.

The last three quarters were totally controlled by us, allowing us to really put the foot down and build some important percentage.

We had some superb individual efforts, with 7 goals each to Tom Grimes and Nikoda Brooking, as well as a masterclass put on by Jack Grimes all over the ground.

All 22 players contributed and we ran out 115 point winners on a great day for the bloods

RESERVES

Warrandyte: 11 . 20 . 86 def.
Chirnside Park: 2 . 2 . 14

Facing a Chirnside Park team hungry for their first win was going to be a dangerous game for us. Losing Tom Naughtin in the first few minutes was very unfortunate, however the boys were able to steady early and get the game on our terms.

A very Solid start with Gareth Hitchman opening up with 4 majors in the 1st quarter, there were many highlights throughout the day. It was great to see a good 4 quarter effort from the boys, there are some great sings going forward.

U19’S

Warrandyte: 14 . 7 . 91 def.
Chirnside Park: 3 . 4 . 22

With nearly a full strength team in this week it’s now time the bloods start putting it together. We controlled the game from the back line with great use of the ball, and managed to hit the scoreboard early and often.

It’s great to see multiple goal scorers, now we just have to remain focused and play our game for the rest of the year.

We are now sitting at 5-0, and the boys are up and about
